Job Description

The Training Specialist designs, delivers, and supports collaborative, participant-centered learning solutions that enhance employee performance and drive organizational change. This role partners closely with senior leaders, stakeholders, and subject matter experts to assess and prioritize current and future capability needs, then addresses identified knowledge and skill gaps through structured training programs, coaching, networking, and on-the-job learning experiences. The Training Specialist develops comprehensive training plans that define scope, risks, dependencies, critical needs, and recommended learning solutions, using results-based analysis, instructional design models, and adult learning principles.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with senior leaders, stakeholders, and subject matter experts to assess current and future employee capability needs.
  • Design and develop collaborative, participant-centered learning solutions that improve employee performance and support change initiatives.
  • Facilitate engaging training sessions and presentations for employees across the organization.
  • Create, update, and refine training materials, including functional designs and workbooks, ensuring content is accurate, clear, and aligned with business needs.
  • Develop training plans that outline scope, risks, dependencies, critical needs, and proposed learning solutions.
  • Leverage results-based analysis, instructional design models, and adult learning principles to design effective training programs.
  • Support learning through multiple channels, including structured courses and programs, coaching and networking, and on-the-job learning experiences.
  • Collaborate with a team of training specialists to ensure consistency and quality across learning solutions.
  • Continuously review and improve training content and delivery methods based on feedback and performance outcomes.
Essential Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Human Resources, Talent Development, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in training within a financial institution.
  • Demonstrated experience in training facilitation and delivering engaging presentations.
  • Experience in training development, including designing and updating workbooks and other learning materials.
  • Familiarity with talent development theories, processes, and models.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat products.
  • Ability to design participant-centered learning experiences that support behavior change and performance improvement.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience collaborating with senior leaders, stakeholders, and subject matter experts to identify learning needs.
  • Ability to apply instructional design models and adult learning principles in the development of training solutions.
  • Strong analytical skills to use results-based analysis when planning and evaluating training programs.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate learning and build strong partnerships across the organization.
  • Experience in a financial services or credit union environment is highly desirable.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.87 - $40.87/hr.
