This position is for the major capital improvement projects included in the Frederick Douglass Tunnel (FDT) (B&P Tunnel Replacement) Program that will modernize and transform approximatley a ten mile section of the Northeast Corridor. It includes two new high-capacity tubes for electrified passenger trains, new roadway and railroad bridges, new rail systems and track, and a new ADA-accessible West Baltimore MARC station. Under the direction of the AVP – FDT, the Sr Director of Program Management, will be responsible to oversee a multi-disciplinary team of design, program and construction management personnel to ensure delivery of the FDT Package A - Tunnels consistent with Amtrak’s Capital Delivery goals of safe, on scope, on-time and on budget project delivery. This position will develop and direct an execution team, including Amtrak and consultant personnel, to ensure the program stays within the approved scope, schedule, and budget, and ensure adequate and timely support is obtained from other functions. The Sr Director is responsible for project management, support of contracting processes, design management, construction, and commissioning of infrastructure assets within the assigned scope of the program. This position will also conduct outreach, coordination and collaboration with the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA), state partners, and other stakeholders, as necessary. This role requires on-site presence in the Baltimore Project Office (and/or active field locations) four days per week.

The salary/hourly range is $187,500.00 – $242,892.00. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. Depending on an employee’s assigned worksite or location, Amtrak may consider a geo-pay differential to be applied to the employee’s base salary. Amtrak may offer additional incentive and pay programs to recognize and reward our employees, including a short-term incentive bonus based upon factors such as individual and company performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
