Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs accounting services with primary support in Disbursements (Accounts Payable, Payroll).
• Prepares journal entries and reconciles account balances with appropriate records.
• Conducts special investigations and compiles accounting data for specific activities.
• Provide updates and documentation for processes and procedures.
• Coordinates or performs the accumulation, analysis and distribution of accounting data.
• Coordinates accounting methods and recommends/implements improvement in departmental procedures.
• Performs liaison activities with accounting management, internal and external customers.
• Investigates problems and implements corrective action.
• Reviews and analyzes accounting data for compliance with policies, procedures, laws, regulations and DOE/NNSA orders.
• Assists in training personnel in various accounting routines and procedures.
• Analyzes financial system output and initiates corrections as required.
• Performs, reviews, and analyzes a variety of financial-related calculations.

You Must Have

• High School diploma
• 5 or more years of relevant experience
• Ability to travel up to 5% of the time.
• United States Citizenship
• Ability to work on-site as directed by management and as determined by the needs of the business
• Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job
• Ability to obtain and maintain, if required for position, a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations)

We Value

• Associates degree in accounting
• Knowledge of general accounting or payroll methods and practices normally acquired through a degree in accounting or equivalent formal education and experience.
• Proficiency in in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to quickly analyze complex financial information and initiate/recommend appropriate actions.
