Job Title: PMO Legal Technology Transformation
Location: New York City, NY (Hybrid)
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced PMO professional to drive governance, planning, and execution oversight for global legal technology transformation initiatives. This role will partner closely with Legal Technology Specialists, legal stakeholders, IT teams, and leadership to ensure structured delivery of legal tech programs, including Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM), Document Management Systems (DMS), workflow automation, and AI-enabled legal solutions.
The PMO will play a critical role in program planning, tracking, risk management, stakeholder communication, and ensuring alignment across multiple workstreams within the legal transformation agenda.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Governance & Planning
- Establish and manage program governance frameworks for legal tech transformation initiatives.
- Develop and maintain detailed program plans, timelines, milestones, and dependencies across workstreams (CLM, DMS, AI, integrations).
- Define and track KPIs, OKRs, and success metrics for legal transformation programs.
Execution Oversight & Delivery Management
- Drive end-to-end program tracking, ensuring timely delivery of milestones and alignment with strategic objectives.
- Coordinate with Legal Technology Specialists to ensure smooth transition from process design (AS-IS / TO-BE) to implementation.
- Monitor progress across multiple parallel initiatives and proactively address delays or bottlenecks.
Stakeholder Management & Communication
- Act as a central coordination point between legal, IT, compliance, procurement, and external vendors.
- Prepare and present regular program updates, dashboards, and executive reports to senior leadership.
- Facilitate steering committee meetings, status reviews, and decision-making forums.
Risk, Issue & Dependency Management
- Identify, track, and mitigate program risks, issues, and interdependencies across workstreams.
- Ensure proper escalation mechanisms and resolution strategies are in place.
- Maintain RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies) logs.
Financial & Resource Management
- Track program budgets, forecasts, and actuals for legal tech initiatives.
- Ensure optimal allocation and utilization of resources across projects.
- Support vendor management, contract tracking, and commercial governance.
Process Standardization & Documentation
- Define and enforce PMO standards, templates, and best practices across the program.
- Maintain comprehensive program documentation including plans, reports, governance artifacts, and playbooks.
- Ensure alignment with organizational PMO and compliance standards.
Change Management & Adoption
- Support change management planning, including communication strategies, training coordination, and adoption tracking.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to ensure smooth rollout and user adoption of new legal tech platforms.
Tooling & Reporting
- Leverage project management and reporting tools (e.g., Jira, MS Project, Smartsheet, Power BI) for tracking and insights.
- Build dashboards to provide real-time visibility into program health, risks, and outcomes.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 8 12 years of experience in PMO, program management, or transformation roles, preferably in Legal Tech, Financial Services, or Enterprise Technology.
- Proven experience managing large-scale transformation programs involving multiple stakeholders and systems.
- Strong understanding of project/program management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid).
- Experience managing technology implementation programs (CLM, DMS, workflow tools, or enterprise platforms).
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, including executive-level reporting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
- Experience in risk management, financial tracking, and governance frameworks.
- Proficiency in PM tools such as Jira, MS Project, Smartsheet, or similar.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting legal tech or legal operations transformation programs.
- Familiarity with tools such as CLM platforms (Icertis, Agiloft, ContractPodAI), DMS (iManage, NetDocuments), and workflow tools (ServiceNow, Power Automate).
- Exposure to AI-driven transformation initiatives or digital transformation programs.
- PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile/Scrum certifications.
Nice to Have:
- Experience in Private Equity, Asset Management, or financial services environments.
- Understanding of legal lifecycle processes and how they intersect with enterprise systems (ERP, CRM).
- Exposure to global delivery models and distributed teams.
