Patient Care Coordinator | Tulsa, OK

Pay: $18.00/hour

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Job Type: Temp-to-Hire | Full-Time | Front Office | Healthcare

Patient Care Coordinator – Must-Have Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Prior healthcare or customer service experience preferred
  • Strong phone etiquette and communication skills
  • Basic typing and data entry skills
  • Ability to learn medical software systems
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong professionalism and patient service mindset

Patient Care Coordinator – Position Summary

The Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for ensuring a positive patient experience through professional phone support, scheduling, and front office coordination. This role is highly patient-facing and focuses on delivering excellent customer service while maintaining accurate and timely patient records in a busy clinical environment.

Patient Care Coordinator – Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Answer incoming calls and respond to patient inquiries
  • Schedule and reschedule patient appointments
  • Return voicemail messages in a timely manner
  • Accurately enter patient data into medical records
  • Transfer calls to appropriate clinical staff when needed
  • Communicate urgent patient concerns to providers immediately
  • Notify leadership of phone system or workflow issues
  • Maintain professional and courteous communication at all times
  • Follow all HIPAA and clinic compliance policies
  • Maintain clean and organized front office workspace
  • Assist with general administrative support as needed

Patient Care Coordinator – Additional Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
  • Ability to remain calm in high-volume or stressful situations
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Willingness to support team and clinic operations as needed

* Interview patients or their representatives to identify problems relating to care.
* Refer patients to appropriate health care services or resources.
* Maintain knowledge of community services and resources available to patients.
* Explain policies, procedures, or services to patients using medical or administrative knowledge.
* Investigate and direct patient inquiries or complaints to appropriate medical staff members and follow up to ensure satisfactory resolution.
* Read current literature, talk with colleagues, continue education, or participate in professional organizations or conferences to keep abreast of developments in the field.
* Develop and distribute newsletters, brochures, or other printed materials to share information with patients or medical staff.
* Provide consultation or training to volunteers or staff on topics, such as guest relations, patients' rights, or medical issues.
