Hybrid / Field-Based Role
A growing financial institution in Southwest Ohio is seeking an experienced Mortgage Loan Officer (MLO) to originate residential mortgage loans and expand its mortgage lending business.
This role is ideal for a motivated loan originator who enjoys building relationships, generating referrals, and helping borrowers achieve homeownership. The MLO will work closely with branch teams, real estate professionals, and community partners to grow mortgage production.
The position offers the flexibility to work from home or from any nearby branch location , while meeting clients in person as needed.
Base Salary: $100,000 – $150,000
Total Earning Potential: Up to $195,000+
Comp Structure: Salary + Commission
Originate residential mortgage loans for borrowers and members
Build relationships with realtors, brokers, and referral partners
Conduct borrower consultations and assess financial situations
Recommend mortgage products based on borrower needs
Prepare and present loan proposals
Guide borrowers through the mortgage process from application to closing
Maintain knowledge of mortgage products, rates, and underwriting guidelines
Network and prospect to build a strong referral pipeline
Partner with branch staff to convert member referrals into mortgage opportunities
Deliver a high level of service throughout the loan process
Experience with the following loan programs is preferred:
Conventional Loans
FHA Loans
VA Loans
USDA Loans
Active NMLS Mortgage Loan Originator License
Minimum 2+ years of residential mortgage origination experience
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Self-motivated and comfortable working independently
Experience with mortgage lending platforms and CRM systems
Knowledge of underwriting guidelines and loan structures
Strong organizational and time management skills
Preferred
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Existing relationships with real estate agents or referral partners
Established branch network generating 15–25 monthly referrals
High earning potential with a strong base salary
Ability to build your own mortgage pipeline
