JOB SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Materials Supervisor, this position is responsible for overseeing daily departmental operations and providing guidance and support to all assigned personnel. The role also functions as a liaison to other departments to ensure operational needs are met, including restocking, unit deployment, and maintaining the quality and cleanliness of campuses, vehicles, and equipment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Performance
- Demonstrates the ability to positively influence and improve metrics related to claims, customer service, and turnover.
- Maintain prompt and regular attendance.
- Support and implement the philosophies, objectives, policies, procedures, and practices of Sunstar Paramedics.
- Ensure timely, accurate, and professional responses to emails and departmental communications.
- Oversee that all necessary work functions of the shift—including quality assurance records, data collection, and all tasks necessary for the preparation of units—are completed to the highest quality and in a timely manner.
- Liaison to Operations to meet Operational deployment
- Participate in departmental and company meetings as required.
- Attend required continuing education and training to maintain knowledge relevant to departmental operations.
Leadership and Staff Performance
- Provide direct leadership, coaching, retraining, remediation, and professional development opportunities to all department personnel.
- Contribute to fostering an optimal, safe, supportive, and engaged workplace culture.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with staff at all levels to promote effective communication and cooperation.
- Provide effective performance feedback through recognition, rewards, training, and disciplinary action—with management support as needed.
- Provide oversight and direction to employees in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
- With the guidance of the Materials Supervisor, set a clear daily mission for staff by organizing and assigning responsibilities to ensure optimal productivity and full coverage.
- Ability to think strategically and lead teams effectively.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Systems and Standards
- Fully understand and utilize department systems and equipment.
- Maintain a clean, neat work environment, including equipment and signage, on a daily basis.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding associate information.
- Serve as a backup to IMA – Controlled Substances.
Safety and Risk Management
- Understand and follow all safety and security procedures.
- Utilize, and ensure team utilization of, company‑operated tracking software throughout the department.
- Practice preventative safety procedures as established by Sunstar Paramedics.
- Report all potential high‑risk areas and safety concerns to the Director of Support Services.
- Comply with all local, state, and federal regulations, including but not limited to: State and county inventory requirements, HIPAA, OSHA
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current Driver’s License with E endorsement
Preferred Qualifications
- One (1) year of prior supervisory experience
- College degree
- Prior training or instructional experience

- This role involves both indoor and outdoor work and may include occasional exposure to hazardous conditions, blood and body fluids, fumes, odors, extended shifts, and varying temperatures.
- The role requires frequent interaction and face‑to‑face contact with others and may involve exposure to noise, mechanical equipment, and electrical equipment.
