Job Description

Rightstone  is looking for a Groundskeeper (Cemetery Maintenance) in Pharr, TX. The pay rate is $11.50/hr. for a 5-month contract, with potential for renewal. 

In this role, you will be responsible for the physical upkeep and appearance of the cemetery and funeral home grounds. You will work outdoors to ensure the facility is clean, well-maintained, and prepared for burial services through active landscaping and equipment operation. 

Responsibilities  

• Perform general landscaping including mowing grass, weed eating, and trimming around trees and memorial markers. 
• Clear debris, leaves, and trash from walkways, drives, and chapel areas to maintain a clean facility. 
• Set up for burial services by erecting tents/canopies and arranging chairs for graveside ceremonies. 
• Assist with the manual opening and closing of graves and the preparation of crypts for entombments. 
• Install grave markers and bronze memorials using accurate measuring devices. 
• Clean and properly store hand tools and power equipment after daily use. 

Qualifications  

• At least 6 months of experience in landscaping, construction, or general labor. 
• Must possess a valid Driver’s License. 
• Ability to operate basic tools such as lawn mowers, weed trimmers, leaf blowers, and shovels. 
• Physical ability to lift, push, and pull heavy objects (up to 150 lbs. with equipment assistance). 
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods in extreme outdoor weather conditions. 
• Reliable and able to work on the required schedule, including Saturdays (9 AM – 2 PM).
