Job Description

A Rare Executive Leadership Opportunity – Come Shape the Future with Us

At Orange County’s Credit Union (OCFCU), we believe banking should be simple, human, and rooted in purpose. As a member-owned financial cooperative, our mission—“Simple Banking. For People, Not Profit.”—drives everything we do.

With $3.0B in assets, 150,000+ members, and deep community roots, we’re entering a defining chapter in our 85-year history. Our vision is clear: scale and grow the assets, elevate the member experience, and lead with innovation, agility, and impact.

To bring this vision to life, we are seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO)—a transformational leader who will turn strategy into reality and accelerate execution across the enterprise. This is your opportunity to help shape the future of a respected institution while delivering meaningful value to members and communities across Southern California and beyond.

The Opportunity

This is more than an operations role—it is a force multiplier for the entire organization. Working in close partnership with the CEO and Executive Leadership Team, the COO will operate at the intersection of strategy, operations, technology, and member experience, ensuring OCFCU’s priorities are executed with clarity, alignment, and measurable progress.

You will play a pivotal role in helping OCFCU evolve into a more agile, technology-enabled financial institution, strengthening our ability to serve members while scaling sustainably.

Drive Enterprise Execution

  • Translate strategy into a coordinated, actionable operating plan with clear milestones, accountability, and outcomes
  • Establish enterprise planning cadence, performance management, and execution frameworks
  • Remove barriers and accelerate progress on critical initiatives
  • Enable Scalable Growth
  • Lead initiatives that enhance efficiency, scalability, and service delivery through process optimization, automation, and continuous improvement
  • Align resources and investments across operations, technology, finance, product, and member experience
  • Lead Transformation
  • Advance digital transformation, operational modernization, and member experience enhancements
  • Support growth in loans, deposits, and member relationships through effective execution
  • Build, develop, and align high-performing teams
  • Foster a culture rooted in accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Elevate organizational structure and leadership capacity to support long-term growth

Who You Are

You are a strategic operator—an executive leader who thrives on turning vision into action. You bring discipline to execution, clarity to complexity, and energy to transformation. You know how to align teams, drive accountability, and deliver results in dynamic, growth-oriented environments. You lead with integrity, urgency, and collaboration, and are inspired by organizations that put people first.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred
  • Executive leadership experience within a financial institution, fintech, or regulated environment
  • Background in organizations with $2B+ in assets and multi-functional complexity
  • Proven success translating strategy into measurable enterprise results
  • Track record leading cross-functional execution and operational transformation
  • Demonstrated ability to improve performance, efficiency, and scalability
  • Experience supporting growth and expansion in performance-driven environments
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to connect strategy to execution

Leadership Profile

  • Strategic thinker with strong operational discipline
  • Collaborative and influential leader with executive presence
  • Skilled at navigating ambiguity and bringing structure to complexity
  • Builder of alignment, accountability, and high-performing teams
  • Passion for mission-driven organizations and member impact

At OCFCU, You’ll Find

  • A strong, stable financial foundation
  • A clear and ambitious growth strategy
  • A mission that puts members—not profit—at the center
  • A leadership team committed to innovation, collaboration, and impact
  • Comprehensive benefits from day one, including medical, dental, and vision
  • 401(k) with up to 6% employer match
  • Annual performance bonuses & merit increases
  • 18 vacation days/year (21 after 5 years)
  • 7 sick days/year
  • Paid holidays

Compensation: Final offers are based on qualifications, experience, and internal equity. The anticipated range for this role is $425k - $475k annually.

Orange County’s Federal Credit Union is an Equal Opportunity Employer. All offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of pre-employment screenings, including background and credit checks.
